The National Housing Enterprise (NHE) has announced the appointment of Josefina Simaneka Nekongo as the new Manager of Legal Services, Compliance, Risk, and Company Secretary.

Nekongo, a law graduate from the University of Namibia, brings with her over nine years of professional work experience as an admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia.

Nekongo’s expertise spans several business disciplines, including labour, corporate, administrative law, corporate governance, compliance management, and company secretarial.

She currently serves as a board member for three companies in the fishing sector, is a council member of the Law Society of Namibia, and a board member of the Commonwealth Lawyers Association.

As the new legal head of NHE, Nekongo will be responsible for managing the Legal and Compliance department, providing legal advisory services, and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks.

She will also offer expert legal opinions and board support on Corporate Governance matters to provide protection, compliance, and risk management advice.

“My key focus will be to provide leadership and ensure the efficient and effective management of staff and resources in the department. It is also paramount that I liaise with other departments to ensure that risks have been identified, and appropriate courses of action to mitigate the risks have been taken,” Nekongo said.
