The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology has appointed Linda Aipinge-Nakale as Executive Director and Accounting Officer, with effect from 1 January 2026, on a five-year contract.

The ministry said the appointment was approved by the Prime Minister on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, in terms of Section 5(1), read together with Section 19A(1) of the Public Service Act, 1995 (Act 13 of 1995).

Nakale replaces Audrin Mathe, who was appointed Executive Director in the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations in August.

Nakale had been acting as interim Executive Director prior to her substantive appointment.

Before taking up the role on a permanent basis, Nakale served as Director of Information and Communication Technology Development in the ministry, a position she has held since 1 June 2016.

She joined the Namibian public service in January 2000 and has served in several capacities, including Assistant Human Resources Practitioner, Human Resources Practitioner, Efficiency Analyst, Chief Efficiency Analyst and Deputy Director, according to the ministry.

Nakale holds a Master’s degree in Leadership Development in ICTs and the Knowledge Society from the University of Mauritius, a Graduate Diploma in Leadership Development in ICTs and the Knowledge Society from Dublin City University in Ireland, a Bachelor’s degree in Public Management from the University of South Africa, and a Diploma in Public Administration from the then Polytechnic of Namibia.
