Noteworthy reductions were observed in specific items, such as Full Cream Fresh Milk Nammilk, dropping from N$141.99 to N$124.70, Rice from N$178.99 to N$168.99, and Top Score from N$106.99 to N$112.99.
On the contrary, Metro presented a less budget-friendly option, with their basket costing N$1,381.83, indicating a 3.94% decrease from the preceding month. Significant price increases were noted in5-litre Cooking Oil substitute, soaring from N$169.99 to N$269.99. However, some products experienced notable decreases, including Macaroni Pasta, which went from N$134.99 to N$129.99, and Full Cream Fresh Milk Nammilk, which decreased from N$141.49 to N$130.99.
Wecke & Voigts demonstrated a further reduction in their basket, decreasing by 2.09% compared to the previous month’s 2.84%. The November basket cost N$1,277.1, down from October’s N$1,304.39.
The 4kg Real Good Chicken offered by Wecke & Voigts stands out as the most economical choice, with an average cost of N$177.95 between October and November. This affordability comparison includes the data from all three wholesalers surveyed.

This month, we are highlighting the 5kg Macaroni Pasta Polana from Namib Mills. The 5kg Pasta Polana achieved an average price of N$150.03 across three wholesalers in the survey conducted over the six-month period from June to November.
Metro demonstrated a cost-effective average price of N$146.27 during the six months. The prices exhibited a decreasing trend throughout the survey period, starting at N$160.66 in June and gradually declining to N$154.99 in July and August. There was a further drop to N$136.99 in September, a slight decrease to N$134.99 in October, and a final settling at N$129.99 in November.
Conversely, Windhoek Cash and Carry set the price for the 5kg Macaroni Pasta Polana at N$159.40 in June, with a slight decrease to N$154.44 in July. The price remained steady in August and September, experienced a minor increase of 0.55 cents in October, and then decreased to N$141.99 in November.
The average price for Wecke & Voigts 5kg Macaroni Pasta Polana is N$151.03 between June and November.
