Namibian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will have an opportunity to showcase locally developed products, services and business models to a wider African audience through the Standard Bank Africa Business Awards 2026.
Standard Bank Namibia said the awards will recognise businesses demonstrating innovation, resilience, leadership and measurable impact, while giving local entrepreneurs exposure beyond the Namibian market.
The programme will cover SMEs operating across sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, tourism, technology, retail and the creative economy.
It will culminate in a Pan-African event in Johannesburg in 2026, where Namibian businesses will have an opportunity to be recognised alongside enterprises from across Standard Bank’s African footprint.
Standard Bank Namibia Executive Officer for Business and Commercial Banking Hellen Amupolo said the awards were intended to give greater visibility to businesses contributing to economic activity and employment.
“The Africa Business Awards play an important role in recognising and celebrating the innovation, resilience and achievements of SMEs across our continent,” Amupolo said.
“These awards not only shine a spotlight on businesses that are creating jobs, driving growth and contributing to their communities, but also inspire continued excellence and enterprise development across the SME sector.”
Beyond recognition, participating businesses will have opportunities to engage with entrepreneurs and industry peers from other African countries, allowing them to exchange experiences and explore potential commercial relationships.
Standard Bank said the platform could also connect entrepreneurs with investors and strategic partners and expose them to opportunities in markets outside Namibia.
“Through these awards, we want to celebrate entrepreneurs who are making a meaningful contribution to Namibia’s economic development while creating opportunities for them to gain recognition, build valuable connections and explore new growth opportunities across Africa,” Amupolo said.
The awards form part of Standard Bank Namibia’s broader enterprise development initiatives aimed at supporting businesses to establish themselves, grow and expand into new markets.
