The August basket was N$20.00 higher than the N$990.80 recorded in July, representing an increase of approximately 2.0% month-on-month (m/m).
Among the products surveyed, Metro recorded competitive prices across a range of essential food items. These included 5kg Top Score Maize Meal at N$77.99, mince at N$99.99/kg, 1L Long Life Full Cream Milk at N$21.99, 1.5kg Chicken at N$86.99 and 2kg Tastic Rice at N$45.99.
Fresh produce prices included 1kg onions at N$26.99, 1kg potatoes at N$27.99 and 1kg tomatoes at N$57.99. Other grocery prices included 2L Cooking Oil at N$72.99, 2.5kg White Sugar at N$54.99, 18 medium Eggs at N$61.99 and 3kg Polana Macaroni Pasta at N$79.99.
