The Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia (LLPBN) has officially appointed Vehaka M. Tijimune as its new Chief Executive Officer f, effective 1 September 2026.

The Board said Tijimune brings more than 37 years of leadership experience in Namibia and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region’s agri-food sector.

“The Board of the Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Vehaka M. Tijimune as the Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 September 2026,” the Board said.

According to the LLPBN, Tijimune has held senior executive and policy leadership positions across government, producer organisations, the private sector and international development institutions.

He most recently served as Senior Policy Advisor for Agriculture and Land at GIZ, where he provided strategic policy and institutional support to Namibia’s agri-food sector.

His previous leadership roles include positions at the Namibia National Farmers Union and Meatco, where he gained experience in livestock procurement, producer services, stakeholder management and corporate affairs.

Tijimune holds a Master’s degree from the University of Reading in the United Kingdom and has expertise in agricultural policy, livestock development, governance, corporate strategy, institutional reform, stakeholder engagement and change management.

The Board said Tijimune has built a strong track record in strategic leadership, institutional transformation and developing partnerships across the agricultural value chain.

It expressed confidence that his experience and leadership would strengthen the LLPBN’s mandate to promote, regulate and develop Namibia’s livestock and livestock products industry.

The Board said Tijimune’s appointment is expected to support sustainable growth, innovation and value creation across the livestock sector.
