The Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) and One Economy Foundation (ONE) have signed a five-year Strategic Comprehensive Partnership Agreement (SCPA) aimed at driving sustainable economic growth, youth empowerment, and community development in Namibia.

This groundbreaking collaboration reflects both organizations’ commitment to promoting equality and creating socio-economic opportunities for underrepresented groups, particularly the youth, women, and rural entrepreneurs.

The partnership formalizes a strategic framework for cooperation, addressing a wide range of issues with an emphasis on mentorship, capacity building, and enterprise development.

As part of the agreement, DBN will provide coaching, training, and internship opportunities to members of the #BeFree Youth Campus and participants in One Economy Foundation programmes, with a focus on advancing youth, women, and micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) development.

Additionally, DBN will support ONE by utilizing its facilities for annual community outreach initiatives.

“We are excited to collaborate with the One Economy Foundation, a key player in addressing socio-economic challenges in Namibia. This Strategic Comprehensive Partnership Agreement, our first of its kind, reflects our shared values of fostering inclusive growth and supporting vulnerable communities to build a prosperous and broad-based Namibian house,” said DBN Chief Executive Officer, John Steytler.

One Economy Foundation’s CEO, Uajorokisa Karuaihe, added, “Our partnership with DBN embodies the spirit of ‘SHAPE: Moulding the Future, Hand in Hand.’ Together, we are providing essential resources to empower young people, equipping them with the skills and opportunities needed to thrive in today’s competitive environment.”

A steering committee will meet regularly to ensure the progress of joint initiatives and to exchange valuable information, strengthening the collaborative efforts.
