Kahimise appointed as new CEO of the Electricity Control Board

Robert Kahimise has taken on his new role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Electricity Control Board (ECB), as of April 1st, 2023.

Kahimise previously served as the CEO of Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (CENORED) from November 2020 until March 31st, 2023.

Before joining CENORED, Kahimise was the CEO of ErongoRED from July 2013 to January 2017 and then served as CEO of the City of Windhoek from February 2017 until October 2020.

Kahimise has also served on numerous boards, including the Namibia Energy Institute.

Kahimise holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in finance from the University of Stellenbosch Business School in South Africa. He is also a certified regulation specialist by the University of Loughborough in the United Kingdom.

The Electricity Control Board is responsible for regulating the electricity sector in Namibia and ensuring that it operates in an efficient, safe, and reliable manner.

The organization plays a crucial role in supporting economic growth and development in the country by promoting the use of renewable energy sources and ensuring that electricity is accessible to all Namibians.
