Women at Work Training Centre has announced the graduation of 11 students from the first Hospitality course of 2023 and the inaugural Baker’s course introduced this year.
The non-profit organisation is committed to providing accessible and targeted vocational training to empower the youth, stimulate local economies and foster a culture of self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
Five students graduated from 2023’s first Hospitality course, generously sponsored by Nampost, while another six students completed the pioneering Baker’s course to equip young women with essential baking skills to start their own community bakeries.
The Baker’s course was made possible with the support of Clover Namibia and Namib Mills Namibia.
Project Hope also played an invaluable role in sponsoring the six young women who attended the first-ever Baker’s course.
“We are grateful to Nampost, Project Hope, Clover Namibia and Namib Mills for their invaluable support in nurturing the talents of our students. Their contributions have significantly impacted the lives of these young individuals, and we look forward to a continued partnership,” said André le Roux, board member of Women at Work Training Centre.
Le Roux also expressed his gratitude to the employees and trainers at Women at Work for their hard work and dedication, stating, “Our team’s unwavering commitment to empowering students has been a driving force in the success of these programmes.”
Highlighting the broader implications of the training programmes, Le Roux added: “By offering accessible and targeted vocational training, Women at Work Training Centre is committed to addressing the pressing issue of youth and unskilled labour unemployment. Empowering individuals with the skills and confidence they need to excel in the workforce, we contribute to their personal growth, stimulate local economies, and foster a culture of self-reliance and entrepreneurship.”
The graduation ceremony, held at the Women at Work Training Centre, was a celebration of the students’ hard work and determination. The organisation is excited to continue empowering more individuals to achieve success and positively impact their communities.
