Expo 2020 Dubai Namibia Pavilion officially opened

The Namibia Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai was officially opened on Thursday by Minister of Industrialisation and Trade, Lucia Iipumbu and Mines Minister Tom Alweendo.

In attendance, were invited guests including Commissioner Generals from SADC countries, corporate stakeholders and the AU Pavilion Commissioner General, Ambassador Simon Maruta.

Namibia’s theme for Expo 2020 Dubai is “Preserving and Utilising Natural Treasures for Future Generations: The Opportunity of a Lifetime.” The term “natural treasures” was selected to describe a wide range of treasurable resources that Namibia is blessed with, from energy, ecology, to people and culture.

The Namibian pavilion aims to display its natural treasures to the world such as its suitable climate for

renewable energy, unique landscapes and abundant wildlife, marine diamonds and minerals, as well as our diverse cultural heritage.

Five sub-sectors will be promoted during the expo: Renewable Energy, Mining, Tourism (culture), Education (eLearning and innovation), as well as Trade and Investment (Manufacturing, Blue Economy, Health, Logistics and Agriculture).
