Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare has appointed Oscar Capelao as Executive Director and Accounting Officer in the Ministry of Finance for a period of five years.

The appointment was approved on the recommendation of the Public Service Commission, in terms of the Public Service Act of 1995.

Capelao was previously Deputy Executive Director at the Ministry of Finance and has also served as Group Chief Financial Officer at FirstRand Namibia.

He holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science and a Global MBA.

Cabinet has also approved several transfers at Executive Director level. Michael Humavindu has been transferred from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Works and Transport as Executive Director without accounting responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Ben Nangombe has been transferred to the Ministry of Justice and Labour Relations, where he will assume accounting responsibility for Vote 14. Audrin Mathe will serve as Accounting Officer for Vote 16 (Justice).
