President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural Namibia Corporate Social Investment (CSI) Mukopano, set for 3 September 2026 at the Windhoek Country Club Resort.
The event will bring together government, corporates, non-governmental organisations, funders and development partners to explore greater coordination of social investment initiatives across Namibia.
Launched in July, the Namibia CSI Mukopano aims to create a national platform for organisations involved in social and economic development to share knowledge, build partnerships and identify opportunities for joint interventions.
“Mukopano”, a Silozi word referring to a gathering of minds and stakeholders, reflects the initiative’s focus on bringing different sectors together around common development priorities.
Speaking on behalf of the Mukopano partners, Tim Ekandjo said Nandi-Ndaitwah’s participation highlights the need for stronger collaboration between government, business and civil society.
“There is significant work already being done across Namibia, but greater coordination allows us to share knowledge, combine strengths and extend the impact of our interventions to more communities,” Ekandjo said.
The inaugural gathering will include keynote addresses, panel discussions and collaborative sessions covering education, entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, sustainability and innovation.
It will also provide a platform for organisations implementing social impact programmes to connect with potential partners and funders and identify opportunities to expand existing initiatives.
Ekandjo said the initiative is seeking to address fragmentation in corporate social investment by encouraging organisations to pool resources, expertise and networks where their development priorities overlap.
“This is bigger than any one company or organisation. It is a national effort, and there is room for everyone who genuinely wants to contribute towards Namibia’s development,” he said.
The organisers said additional partners are being sought ahead of the September gathering, with the initiative aiming to mobilise more resources and expertise towards social development programmes.
Corporates, NGOs, government institutions, funders, development partners and organisations implementing social impact initiatives are expected to participate in the event.
