The Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) has renewed the contract of its Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Kanime, for another five-year term, extending his leadership from 1 November 2025.

Namport said Kanime’s reappointment reflects confidence in his leadership and the strategic progress achieved since his first appointment on 1 November 2020.

“Under his stewardship, Namport has strengthened its position as a key logistics hub in Southern Africa, expanding its footprint in the region’s maritime and transport sector,” the company said.

Before joining Namport, Kanime served as Chief Human Capital Officer at FirstRand Namibia Group and held several senior leadership positions at Telecom Namibia, the Development Bank of Namibia, and NamPower.

His professional career spans more than 25 years, including 17 years in executive management.

Kanime holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, an Honours degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Namibia, and a Bachelor of Technology in Human Resources Management from Technikon Southern Africa.

He has also served on the boards of NamPower and Namport, where he contributed to strategic governance and institutional development.
