AmaWaterways has expanded its Africa Safaris & Wildlife cruise programme by launching four new itineraries in August 2026, each now incorporating Namibian destinations as part of their land-and-wildlife offerings.

The new packages, which vary in duration from nine to eighteen nights, combine a three-night cruise on the Chobe River aboard the 28-passenger Zambezi Queen with extended land tours across southern and eastern Africa.

Namibia joins the itinerary alongside Kenya, Zanzibar, Victoria Falls and South Africa.

AmaWaterways CEO Catherine Powell said the Africa programme holds personal significance for her and that the new tours will deliver richer cultural interactions, varied landscapes and wildlife sightings alongside community-supporting sustainable tourism.

“We’re thrilled to offer even more opportunities for our guests to experience the trip of a lifetime – seeing wildlife right on the riverbanks, connecting with amazing people, and exploring the rich cultures and landscapes that make this region so special,” she said.

The new routes include From the Cape to the Falls, Iconic Africa, Classic Kenya & Southern Africa, and African Wonders & the Skeleton Coast. Namibia features most prominently in the latter, which includes visits to the NamibRand Nature Reserve, Etosha National Park and the famous Skeleton Coast.

Guests can also look forward to additional options such as penguin encounters at Boulders Beach, safaris in multiple parks, a three-night stay in Greater Kruger and optional extensions in Johannesburg or Zanzibar.
