First National Bank of Namibia (FNB) has been named Best Bank in Namibia at the 2024 Banker’s Bank of the Year Awards.

The accolade, which celebrates excellence in global banking, recognizes FNB Namibia’s outstanding contributions to the banking sector and its innovative approach to financial services.

Conrad Dempsey, Group Chief Executive Officer of FirstRand Namibia, expressed his pride in the achievement.

“We are incredibly honoured to be named the Best Bank in Namibia,” said Dempsey. “Both our banking franchises, FNB Namibia and RMB Namibia, work tirelessly to provide Namibia with world-class financial solutions that are both inclusive and socially impactful. To be acknowledged on a global stage highlights that our work transcends borders. We remain committed to bringing innovative, globally relevant financial services to our customers,” he said.

Dempsey emphasized that the award reflects FNB Namibia’s dedication to its mission of delivering cutting-edge, globally competitive financial solutions.

“By being a globally competitive bank, we contribute to building a globally competitive Namibia,” he said. “This recognition is further validation of our ongoing efforts to set the standard both locally and internationally,” FirstRand Namibia CEO said.

He also attributed the success to the trust and loyalty of FNB Namibia’s customers, especially in the face of challenging economic conditions.

“The trust our customers place in us is a testament to our dedication to their financial well-being. We remain committed to maintaining that trust and building an economically resilient and globally competitive Namibia,” Dempsey said.

The Banker’s Bank of the Year Awards, widely regarded as the most prestigious accolades in global banking, cover over 120 countries.

Winners are selected based on rigorous criteria, with assessments conducted by a panel of editors, regional specialists, and sector experts.

The awards recognize licensed full-service commercial banks, retail banks, and digital lenders that demonstrate excellence in financial management and innovation.
