Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) has announced a 60% discount on accommodation at all its establishments throughout the country for March in celebration of Independence Day, aiming to encourage locals to discover the beauty of their own country.

According to NWR’s spokesperson, Nelson Ashipala, the offer addresses Namibians’ concerns about the high cost of recreational travel within the country.

“With the Independence Special, NWR aims to make travel more accessible and affordable for Namibians. Starting March 1st, all lodges under NWR’s management will be discounted by 60%, making it easier for locals to experience the diverse landscapes and unique wildlife that Namibia has to offer,” he said.

He said NWR’s commitment stems from recent engagements with the public, where it recognized genuine concerns regarding the affordability of leisure travel.

“The special is open to all travelers, but our hope is to see a strong uptake, mostly from locals,” he added.

As part of the special, popular lodges such as Khorixas Camp in Damara Land will be available for as little as N$220.00 per night, including breakfast.

“It’s important to note that while most lodges are included in the Special, seasonal camps such as the Miles along the coastline are not part of the discounted offer,” he explained.
