The Bank of Namibia and the Bank of Botswana have renewed their cooperation following a visit by Johannes !Gawaxab, Governor of the Bank.

!Gawaxab, who is accompanied by Director of Strategic Communications and International Relations, Kazembire Zemburuka, met with Moses Dinekere Pelaelo, Governor of the Bank of Botswana, and his team

The discussions centered on key issues concerning both countries’ economic development as well as cooperation between the two sister central banks.

Both Governors examined the inflationary pressures building up in both economies as well as the response of monetary authorities charged with a price stability mandate, as well as measures to protect the most vulnerable groups from the high cost of living.

Gawaxab has also visited Ghana, where he met central bank Governor, Ernest Addison to further strengthen ties between the two central banks by collaborating and exploring mutual interests pertaining to their price and financial stability mandates.
