The Anti-Money Laundering and Combatting the Financing of Terrorist and Proliferation Council chaired by Bank of Namibia Governor Johannes !Gawaxab has appointed Gerrit Eiman as Acting Director of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) following the appointment of Leonie Dunn as Second Deputy Governor of BoN.
Eiman, an admitted legal practitioner of the High Court, is currently the Deputy Director in the FIC responsible for Financial Investigations and Analysis, as well as Law Enforcement and Prosecutorial Support and has been at the FIC for more than 13 years.
Eiman’s appointment is effective 01 January 2022, until such time a substantive Director is appointed according to an announcement by the FIC.
Dunn prior to her appointment was the Director of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), a Financial Intelligence Unit of the Government of Namibia.
