The Lufthansa Group, which operates Eurowings Discover which flies to Namibia, has announced that it will continue to service flights to/from Namibia, despite the German Robert Koch Institute having reclassified the country as Areas of Variant of Concern following the discovery of a new COVID variant.

If you in Namibia and planning to travel to Germany, you need to observe the following mandatory travel regulations issued by the German authorities:

  • Only German nationals, their immediate family members and holders of German resident permits are allowed to enter Germany.
  • All travelers (all nationalities) older than 12 years must provide a negative COVID Test result (digital or printed): Either PCR test, taken within 72 hours before entry into Germany, or AntiGen test, taken within 24 hours before entering Germany. This includes travelers who additionally hold a vaccination or immunity certificate.
  • Travelers must complete the Digital Registration on Entry form online before their departure.
  • Travelers are required to enter a general 14-day quarantine upon entry into Germany.
  • For other nationalities: In principle, transiting Germany to a destination outside of Germany is possible, however the entry regulations of the country of final destinations must be observed
