The National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR) has announced the appointment of former Debmarine Namibia CEO, Otto Nakasole Shikongo, to its board.

Effective from 1 June, Shikongo’s vast experience, industry knowledge, and strategic acumen are expected to significantly contribute to the realization of NAMCOR’s long-term objectives.

Shikongo, a registered Professional Engineer in Namibia and South Africa, brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. Holding a Master of Engineering degree in mechanical engineering from the renowned University of Southampton in the United Kingdom, he has also completed notable executive development programs.

These include the Senior Management Development Programme at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, the Executive Development Programme at Ashridge, and the Senior Executive Programme at the London Business School.

Jenny Comalie, Chairperson of the NAMCOR Board of Directors, expressed her delight at Shikongo’s appointment, emphasizing the board’s anticipation of the valuable contributions he will bring.

“We are delighted to welcome Mr. Shikongo to the NAMCOR Board of Directors,” said Comalie.

NAMCOR, the state-owned petroleum corporation responsible for the exploration, production, and marketing of petroleum products in Namibia, is a 10% shareholder in Namibia’s recent oil discoveries, partnering with Shell, Qatar Energy and TotalEnergies.
