The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has appointed Menesiah Muinjo as its new Director General, effective 1 April 2026, for a five-year term.
Muinjo succeeds Stanley Similo and previously served as NBC’s Chief of News and Programming.
NBC Board Chairperson Lazarus Jacobs said the appointment was made in line with the provisions of the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation Act, in consultation with the Minister of Information and Communication Technology.
Jacobs said Muinjo brings extensive experience in institutional management, content development and stakeholder engagement, positioning her to lead the national broadcaster through its next phase of growth.
“Throughout her tenure at NBC, she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, innovation and public service,” Jacobs said.
He added that her leadership is expected to strengthen operational efficiency, improve revenue generation and deepen audience engagement across NBC’s platforms.
Muinjo’s appointment comes as the broadcaster continues to implement its Integrated Strategic Business Plan, with a focus on digital transformation and expanding its reach in a rapidly evolving media environment.
Jacobs said the board expects her to reinforce NBC’s role as a credible and trusted national broadcaster while adapting to changing audience needs and technological advancements.
