CENORED and Mobile Telecommunications Limited MTC (MTC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday, centered around the digital transformation of the electricity industry, through, smart metering, automations and tailor-made solution for the industry.

Under the agreement, MTC and CENORED will jointly work together on smart Metering technologies and Smart Grid platform with the aim of remotely assisting with data management and monitoring capabilities, automation and control, and the effective utilization and safe management of transmission and distribution of CENORED’s networks through Internet of Things , Connectivity and other related products.

“We are keenly looking forward to provide array of solution to CENORED in the areas of Digital Transformation in the Electricity Industry, this corporation should give flexibility to our users with more convenient access to electricity and it will help CENORED accelerate electricity usage thus allowing for a Nationalized Vending Solution on MTC’s Network and Digital Platforms.Through our digitalization strategy, our ambition is to develop a sustainable business model focused on national development goals that are value driven not only for the shareholder, but all other stakeholders, including CENORED,” MTC’s Managing Director, Licky Erastus said.
