Finance and Public Enterprises Minister Ericah Shafudah has reappointed Sam Shivute as Commissioner of the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) for a second five-year term.

The reappointment, confirmed by the NamRA Board, is in line with Section 18 of the Namibia Revenue Agency Act, 2017 (Act No. 12 of 2017).

Shivute’s new term will run from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2031.

NamRA Board Chairperson Anna Nakale-Kawana said the Board welcomes the Minister’s decision and expressed confidence in Shivute’s continued leadership.

“The Board extends its appreciation to the Honourable Minister and Cabinet for the continued confidence placed in Mr Shivute’s leadership,” Nakale-Kawana said.

She added that the Board “congratulates Mr Shivute on his re-appointment and commends him for his dedication,” expressing trust that he will “continue spearheading institutional growth and excellence” in pursuit of NamRA’s goal of becoming a world-class revenue agency.

Shivute was first appointed as NamRA Commissioner on 28 September 2020. Between 2013 and 2014, he served as Acting Commissioner of the former Receiver of Revenue for more than 18 months.
