Standard Bank Namibia has appointed Hellen Amupolo as its new Head of Business and Commercial Banking, effective 20 June 2025.
Amupolo has more than 17 years of experience in development finance, structured finance and enterprise banking. She previously served as Chief Investment Officer at the Development Bank of Namibia, where she led credit origination, portfolio management and strategic initiatives.
The bank said she played a key role in structuring financing for Namibia’s first wind farm and in developing innovative land delivery models for local authorities.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, an MBA in Finance and a Master’s in Development Finance, and has completed the Executive Leadership Development Programme at Stellenbosch University and the Impact Investing in Africa programme at the University of Cape Town.
Amupolo is a member of the Chartered Institute of Development Finance and has served on several boards in the public and private sectors.
