The Electricity Control Board (ECB) has approved a 3.8% increase in NamPower’s average bulk tariff, effective from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.

ECB CEO Robert Kahimise said to cushion the impact on consumers, the government has allocated a subsidy of N$283 million for the financial year.

The adjustment raises the average tariff from the current approved rate of 1.99 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to 2.06 cents per kWh.

This follows NamPower’s application for a 17.44% tariff increase.
