Simasiku joins the DBN from Nedbank Namibia, where he served as Head of SME Banking for five years.

As part of his appointment, Simasiku will be a member of the Executive Committee and will report directly to the Chief Investment Officer, Hellen Amupolo.

Nelson brings over 20 years of well-rounded experience across the banking value chain, including roles in credit, sales, and portfolio management. He holds a Master of Science in Financial Services Risk and Operations from Glasgow Caledonian University and a Bachelor of Technology in Business Administration from the Polytechnic of Namibia (now NUST).

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and recruitment team for the trust placed in me. I am grateful and humbled to lead such a dynamic and dedicated SME team and look forward to making DBN the preferred financier of choice for SMEs in Namibia. I am excited about the journey that lies ahead,” Simasiku said of his appointment.

Heinrich Tsauseb had been serving as Acting Head of SME Finance.
