The announcement comes as the Namibia Tourism Board prepares to initiate the recruitment process for a permanent CEO to succeed Digu //Naobeb, who has been at the helm of the institution since 2007.

Mbidzo currently serves as the Head of Business Development and Operations, having been with the NTB since 2014 and as a senior executive member for the past nine years.

Mbidzo holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate Governance from Unam, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Unam, a BJuris (Unam), and a Baccalaureus Artium Educationis (BAED) from Unisa.

“During his tenure, his focus will be to leverage his significant experience in the tourism sector to enhance stakeholder engagement and unlock new opportunities. The board fully supports this interim appointment and believes that Bonnie’s abilities will well serve the Namibia Tourism Board in capitalizing on the opportunities that lie ahead.”

The NTB is a state-owned entity mandated by the government as the regulatory and marketing body for tourism activities in Namibia.
