Deep-South Resources Inc. has announced a name change to Koryx Copper Inc., effective from November 10, 2023.

The company said the name change better represents its core values.

“The name Koryx is an amalgamation of the word ‘Karas,’ representing the province in which we operate in Namibia, and the name ‘Oryx,’ which is an antelope of Namibia. The Oryx is the national animal emblem of Namibia and is featured on the national coat of arms. The Oryx symbolizes courage, elegance, pride, and strength. This name change better reflects our core values, which also include collaborating with and serving the people of the Karas region in the south of Namibia and developing a project that will make both Karas and Namibian people proud for years to come,” said Deep-South President & CEO, Pierre Leveille.

The Canadian-listed company, however, said there will be no change in the share capital of the company, and shareholders will not be required to exchange their existing share certificates for new ones.

Deep-South Resources is a mineral exploration and development company that holds the Haib Copper Project in Namibia and has an interest in three exploration licenses in the Copperbelt in Zambia.-miningandenergy.com.na
