The Minister of Industrialisation and Trade, Lucia Iipumbu, has appointed a new board of directors for the Namibia Estates Agency Board (NEAB) and the Namibia Competition Commission (NaCC).

The new board of directors for the NEAB, which will serve for a three-year period from 1 March 2023 to 31 March 2026, is composed of Marvel Tjombonde and Abel Sindano as Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson, respectively.

Simeon Kahona, Dickson Swanepoel, and Liberty Mupopiwa are the other board members.

Meanwhile, the new NaCC Board comprises Andreas Penda Ithindi as Chairperson, Isabella Tjatjara as Deputy Chairperson, and Siegfried Josua Neumann, Irene Simeon-Kurtz, and Benjamin Biwa as members.

The NaCC board will serve for a three-year term from 1 August 2023 to 31 July 2026.

Iipumbu urged the new boards to lead their respective institutions in accordance with the enabling legislations and to observe key sections within the Public Enterprise and Governance Act, particularly those related to compliance.

“The Minister emphasized several compliance matters that I expect to be fully adhered to, including the signing of Performance Agreements by the Board of Directors with the line Minister, the development and submission of an integrated strategic business plan, timely submission of annual reports to the line Ministry, and the compilation and submission of financial reports, to mention a few,” the Minister said.
