Fessor Mbango, the former CEO of Erongo Red, has been appointed as the new head of the Central North Regional Electricity Distributor (Cenored) effective from June 5th, 2023.

Mbango’s appointment on a five year contract,  comes after the resignation of Robert Kahimise in March, who assumed the CEO position at the Electricity Control Board.

Confirming the news, Charles Matengu, the spokesperson for Cenored, said, ‘We do have a new CEO, his name is Fessor Mbango. He is starting on Monday with Cenored.”

Matengu further mentioned that Mbango’s appointment followed an extensive recruitment process, with numerous applicants vying for the position.

“The board, along with external individuals invited to assist with the interviews, conducted the selection process last month,” he said

Notably, Mbango previously succeeded Kahimise in 2017 when he assumed the role of CEO at Erongo Red after Kahimise’s departure to lead the Windhoek City Council.
