Moses Matyayi, the current Chief Executive Officer of the Otjiwarongo Municipality, has officially accepted the offer to become the new Chief Executive Officer of the City of Windhoek.

Matyayi’s appointment will take effect on the 1st of August 2023.

“I have accepted the offer and am prepared to take on the role. I am currently bound by a confidentiality agreement with the City of Windhoek, so I cannot provide further details at this time. I will be able to engage more openly at a later stage,” he told The Brief.

Matyayi’s appointment follows the rejection of the offer by Conrad Lutombi, the CEO of the Roads Authority, who had initially ranked highest during the recruitment interview process.

This development ensures that the capital city of Windhoek will now have a permanent leader, filling the vacancy left since November 2020 after the resignation of Robert Kahimise.
