The Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises has announced the appointment of Oscar Capelao as the new Deputy Executive Director in the Department of Economic Policy (including Tax Policy) effective 1 March 2023.

Capelao, a Chartered Accountant by profession, will bring his extensive expertise to the government department following his tenure as Group Chief Financial Officer at FirstRand Namibia.

Finance Ministry Executive Director, Titus Ndove, praised Capelao’s vast knowledge and experience in public financial management, corporate governance, banking, financial markets, and taxation, accumulated over a distinguished career spanning more than two decades.

Capelao’s appointment marks the second high-profile executive to join the Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises, following Ndove’s own recruitment, who previously served as Head of Public Sector and Market Intelligence at Standard Bank Namibia.
