Standard Bank scoops Best Bank, Best Investment Bank awards

Standard Bank Namibia has been named the Best Bank and Best Investment Bank in Namibia at the EMEA African Banking Awards for 2022.  

“All gratitude is extended to our stakeholders who have diligently supported us throughout the year. This award is indicative of the many milestones reached, our unwavering commitment to clients, our strong technical teams and the business acumen demonstrated,” Nelson Lucas Head of CIB at Standard Bank said. 

“Guided by our brand goal, Namibia is our Home we Drive Her Growth, our mission is to do the right business the right way. We are committed to providing quality financial services to our clients both on a local and global scale. This year our team reached amazing business milestones in the Mining & Metals, Power & Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Financial Services and also Consumer industries.” 

The EMEA Finance awards organisation said “the year 2022 proves again that Africa’s banks are able to move forward quickly and manage difficult and tough external challenges. Our winners continue to support the communities they serve, while returning profits for shareholders. We thank all of our participating financial institutions for bringing to our attention the many initiatives that you create to support customers, communities and the public sector.” 

Standard Bank Namibia’s Head of Marketing, Brand and CSI Magreth Mengo expressed her gratitude to the EMEA Finance awards organisation for acknowledging the bank’s contribution to the growth of the domestic economy. 

‘’We are honoured to receive such recognition once again and celebrate the CIB team and the bank as a whole for their constant evolution and dedication to their industry. With expertise in mining and metals, oil and gas, renewable energy, agribusiness, telecommunications and media, Standard Bank is a fitting partner to accelerate investment banking in Namibia and contribute to the economic development of our country,” she said. 

EMEA Finance recognises retail and investment banks, asset managers, brokers and advisers for their accomplishments throughout the year.
