The Ministry of Labour has announced the appointment of Balbina Daes Pienaar as the new Acting Executive Director of the Ministry.

Pienaar who is currently an Deputy Executive Director in the Ministry of Works, will serve for a period of three months effective from 1 June to 31 August, or until such a time a substantive Executive Director is appointed.

Pienaar replaces Lydia Indombo who had been Acting Executive Director since June last year, following the retirement of Bro-Mathew Shinguadja.

Pienaar is a former Ambassador to Zimbabwe, a position she held for seven years.
