Landless People’s Movement councillor Sade Gawanas has been elected Mayor of the City of Windhoek.
She replaces Affirmative Repositioning leader Job Amupanda who has held the position for the past year and did not stand for re-election.
Gawanas will be deputized by Nudo’s Joseph Uapingene.
The new City of Windhoek Management committee is made up of Ndeshihafela Larandja (IPC) as Chairperson, Otilie Uukule (IPC), Jurgen Hecht (IPC), Bernadus Araeb (IPC) and Ivan Skrywer (LPM).
