Finance Minister Ipumbu Shiimi has reappointed six of the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRa) board members to serve for a period of three years, effective 01 December 2021 to 30 November 2024.

NamRa board Chairperson, Anna Nakale- Kawana, retained her position with Stefan Hugo deputizing her. Acting Executive Director of the Ministry of Finance and Head of the Procurement Policy Unit, Francois Brand and NamRA Commissioner Sam Shivute also retain their positions on the board as Ex Officio members.

Other board members whose tenures were extended include Adv. Denis Khama, Shirene Bampton, while Pieter Kruger is coming in as a new appointment.

The reappointments and appointments at NamRa, according to the Finance ministry, were done in consultation with the Minister of Public Enterprises, Leon Jooste.

NamRA is Namibia’s tax collecting authority established in terms of the Namibia Revenue Agency Act 12 of 2017 as an autonomous agency responsible for administering the Namibian tax laws and customs and excise services.
