Chinese businessman nabbed on corruption charges

The Businessman arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission on Monday has been identified as Chinese national, Guo Yunhai, owner of ABC Investments CC.

Yunhai was arrested together with his employee only identified as Siyengwa for contravention of various Sections of the Anti-Corruption Act, 2003 (Act No.8 of 2003).

The two appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate Court on Wednesday and their case was remanded to Friday for a formal bail application.

It is alleged that the two tried to bribe a NAMRA Official with N$100 000 after Yunhai’s Katima Mulilo based company was found to owe an estimated N$8 million in tax.
