Trigon Metals Inc. has shipped its first copper concentrate product from its Kombat Mine in Namibia.
According to the Canadian exploration and development company, 101 tonnes have been shipped to date, and shipments continue as finished concentrate at the site have begun to overwhelm on-site storage facilities.
This comes as a total of 470 tonnes of concentrate was produced in September, boasting an average concentrate grade of 35.3% copper and 345 g/t of silver.
“Another tremendous milestone for the team at Kombat as cash flow begins. Mining and milling operations are performing optimally,” Trigon’s President and CEO, Jed Richardson, remarked.
During the month of September, mining operations at Kombat Mine according to the company, continued to excel, providing a consistent plant feed averaging 1.2% copper, in line with the mine plan.
The Kombat Mill, according to Trigon, operated for 23 days in September, with an average daily throughput of 718 tonnes per day, corresponding to 72% capacity.
“By the end of September, production ramped up significantly, with steady operation consistently above 95% capacity from September 16th onwards. The company is on track to declare commercial production in the second week of October,” the listed company announced.
Trigon resumed operations at the Kombat Mine in March after suspending operations last year.
Trigon is a publicly traded company with its core business focused on copper and silver holdings and operations in Namibia and Morocco.
