Leonie Dunn has been appointed Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Namibia (BoN) for a period of five years by President Hage Geingob.

Prior to her appointment, Dunn was the Director of the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), a Financial Intelligence Unit of the Government of Namibia.

Johannes !Gawaxab and Ebson Uanguta were reappointed Governor and Deputy Governor respectively for a period of five years, effective from January 1, 2022.

Dunn’s appointment comes after Gawaxab had announced on Wednesday that the central bank’s board had approved changes to its organisational structure, a move which will entail a series of senior-level staff appointments.
