Windhoek Country Club pays N$25 million dividend

Standard Bank Namibia Holdings has announced the appointment of Nelson Lucas as Acting Chief Executive, effective from 24 May 2023, for a period of six months.

The decision follows the surprise resignation of Mercia Geises, who will step down from her position on 1 August 2023.

Lucas currently serves as the Head of Corporate and Investment Banking.

The listed financial institution has confirmed that regulatory approval for the acting appointment has been obtained.

“The Board will initiate the process of appointing a permanent Chief Executive, and a further announcement will be made to shareholders in due course,” Standard Bank stated.

Additionally, the company has begun recruiting a Chief Financial Officer, following the resignation of Letitia du Plessis, effective this month.

In the financial year that ended on 31 December 2022, Standard Bank reported its highest-ever profit of N$624 million.
