Andrada Mining Limited has appointed Gida Nakazibwe Sekandi as a Non-Executive Director, effective immediately.

Sekandi is a qualified lawyer and accomplished businessperson with 28 years of executive and operational expertise in renowned organizations within the mining, financial services, and private equity sectors, both domestically and internationally.

She also brings over 15 years of board experience in listed entities. Currently, she serves as an independent, non-executive director and chairperson of the Sustainability and Ethics Committee of the Capricorn Limited Group board.

Sekandi is actively involved in several other boards, including Alpha Namibia Industries Renewable Energy Power Limited (ANIREP), the first energy company listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange.

ANIREP is poised to play a pivotal role in Namibia’s solar energy production, serving as a substitute for electricity imported from South Africa.

At Andrada Mining Limited, Sekandi will join the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) board committee, which aims to embed best practices in the company’s operations. The committee has already played a crucial role in developing the company’s ESG strategy, compliance systems, and policies, ensuring sustainable and ethical practices are at the forefront of Andrada’s business approach.

In addition to Sekandi’s appointment, Andrada Mining Limited has also welcomed Hiten Mohanlal Ooka as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director.

Andrada Mining Limited is renowned for its focus on technology metals mining and boasts an impressive portfolio of mining and exploration assets across Namibia.
