The NAMDIA Foundation has officially handed out 14 bursaries to its beneficiaries under its N$2.8 million bursary scheme on Friday.

From the 300 applicants received, one student was chosen from each of the country’s 14 regions to receive a maximum of N$200,000 per year towards their studies.

The bursaries awarded cover a wide range of fields, including Mining Engineering, Geology, Chemical Engineering, Medicine and Surgery, Civil Engineering, Agronomics, and more.

The bursary scheme was established in honor of Zacharias Lewala, who discovered the first diamond in Namibia in 1908 at Kolmanskuppe.

This initiative is aimed at supporting the next generation of leaders across various industries and promoting educational opportunities for students in Namibia.
