Bank Windhoek employees in the bargaining unit are set to receive a 6% salary increase and a 20% increase in their transport allowance following the conclusion of annual wage negotiations with the Namibia Financial Institutions Union (NAFINU).

The agreement was concluded on 30 September 2026, with the adjustments effective retrospectively from 1 September 2026 until 31 August 2027.

Bank Windhoek Managing Director James Chapman said the agreement followed negotiations between the bank and NAFINU and reflected efforts to recognise employee contributions and support their financial well-being.

“The agreement follows focused and constructive engagement between the parties and reflects Bank Windhoek’s commitment to recognising employee contribution, rewarding performance and supporting the financial well-being of its employees,” Chapman said.

He said fair and consistent remuneration was important to maintaining an engaged and capable workforce and supporting the bank’s long-term performance.

The bank said the salary and transport allowance adjustments form part of its efforts to reward employees while maintaining a high-performance culture.
