The Acunam Technology Group has announced its acquisition of Bidvest Namibia IT business for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition of the business comes amid restructuring at Bidvest Namibia, which has seen Pierre Joubert, who had been key in setting up the business, acquiring it.
The acquisition which was completed last month, will see the business rebranded, while existing clients will continue to be serviced by the new owners.
“As of 1 September, Bidvest Namibia IT is known as Acunam Technology Group and we are extremely excited about this change, and the future of our Group and its customers,” Joubert said.
He said all 35 employees of Bidvest Namibia IT were taken on board at Acunam as part of the acquisition.
“During the past 10 years we have built an awesome team and I’m so proud of what we have achieved. I am very grateful for the opportunity and thankful of my fellow shareholders, The Logos Group, who assisted in making this dream come true,” Joubert said.
On the future prospects of the business, he said,” we are very excited about our growth prospects. The technology industry is growing and constantly changing, and innovation is key. IT is so pervasive that it would be difficult to think of any business not relying on IT in some way. IT problems cause business interruptions and loss of revenue or reputational damage. IT problems are thus no longer just IT problems, they have become business problems. In this volatile environment, businesses need more than just an IT service provider. They need a trusted technology partner that can design a stable, secure and cost-effective solution and implement and support such a solution,” he said
“Our customers benefit from our extensive experience in a wide range of fields within the IT domain, such as data center and cloud services, networking and security, server and desktop support, to name a few. Whether we provide a single product, deliver a successful IT project, or provide a fully outsourced IT solution, our customers can rely on our expertise and integrity. We look forward to serving the Namibian business community.”
