“Any price increases in Namibia will, as always, be announced to customers on the official MultiChoice communication channels. MultiChoice takes into account the economic pressures our customers may face when considering price adjustments. However, to ensure that we provide our customers with world class content, inflationary costs are expected year on year,” she said in response to an inquiry from The Brief.
On whether Multichoice Namibia take into considering that many customers remain under pressure two years into the COVID-19 pandemic, for any would be adjustment, Cloete said, “With our ‘Step-Up’ campaign, all active, disconnected and new DStv customers get upgraded to a second higher package, when paying for a package higher than their last active subscription. Quizzed about mechanisms being put in place by MultiChoice Namibia to retain customers who are shifting to alternative entertainment platforms, Cloete said, “We remain committed to ensuring Namibians continue to enjoy unrivalled access to entertainment. With the launch of the Namibian channel – Network TV, this hyperlocal content offering, that customers can relate to and be inspired by, will certainly enhance the customer’s viewing experience even more, and at great value. Customers can also look out for more exciting content and products that will launch during the year, which will benefit them greatly.”
