The City of Windhoek has appointed Fillemon Kondjeni Neputa as Strategic Executive for Information Communication Technology (ICT), effective 1 August 2023.
Neputa’s appointment is the second executive appointment by the municipality this month.
“Neputa brings a wealth of expertise to his new role, with 18 years of experience, 14 of which have been in management and leadership positions. He has gained extensive experience in project management and business development, with a focus on innovation as a cornerstone of his approach,” the city said in an announcement.
According to City of Windhoek, he has also worked in various industries, including telecommunications, banking, postal services, academia, and microinsurance.
This comes on the heels of the appointment and resumption of duties by Moses Matyayi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the capital city, a development that ensured that CoW has a permanent leader, filling the vacancy left in November 2020 after the resignation of Robert Kahimise.
The municipality late November 2022 welcomed Zurilea Steenkamp, who was appointed as the new Strategic Executive for Economic Development and Community Service.
Steenkamp was an employee of City of Windhoek since 2005.
All the appointees underwent public interviews, where they made presentations on how they planned to tackle their roles.
