Currently in South Africa participating in a conclave of the five-nation grouping BRICS in Cape Town, the visit to Namibia will be the first by an External Affairs Minister of India to the African nation.

During his visit, the External Affairs Minister will have meetings with the top leadership of the country and other government ministers, according to India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

The MEA also stated that Jaishankar will co-chair the inaugural session of the joint commission meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah.

Furthermore, he will have interactions with the Indian diaspora residing in Namibia.
