The Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA) has announced that it will be conducting the pilot phase of the 2021 Population & Housing Census from the 17th to the 30th October 2021.

The pilot census according to NSA Statistician-General and CEO Alex Shimuafeni, serves as a test run for the actual population and housing census scheduled for next year.

“The Pilot Census, which serves as a test or dry run for the actual population and housing census scheduled for next year, will be conducted for a two-week period this October throughout the entire country and all regions with complete coverage in selected enumeration areas,” he said.

Namibia’s Population and Housing Census originally scheduled to be held in August 2021, was postponed to August 2022 due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

A Population and Housing Census is conducted every 10 years.
