The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) is set to promote investment opportunities in Namibia on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly summit underway in the United States of America (USA) to boost the inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI).

Namibia’s number of millionaires is expected to rise from 2,150 individuals to over 10,000 by 2040, according to a report by New World Wealth. 

The Minister of Justice Yvonne Dausab says at least N$160 million is required to fully operationalise the Witness Protection Unit, while an additional amount will still be needed for the Whistleblower Protection Office.

 The Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade (MIT) has announced its plans to conduct stakeholder consultations for the National Informal Economy, Startups, and Entrepreneurship Policy (NIESEP).

The Ministry of Finance and Public Enterprises says experts from the World Bank and the African Development Bank are assisting Namibia in establishing reforms to its procurement system using the global standard of Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems (MAPS).
