Tourism and hospitality firm, Gondwana Collection, says it sold over 10 000 vouchers on Black Friday, with the majority of vouchers being snapped up by Namibians.

This was after many prospective travelers had registered their frustrations over the handling of the Black Friday special sale by Gondwana.

“Gondwana made over 10 000 bed-nights available at a very special price.”

Of the total vouchers on offer, 3000 were for N$650, another 3000 were for N$450, with 3000 more for N$850, the company said.

500 vouchers according to Gondwana, were reserved at a cost of N$1100, another 500 at N$1300, with 200 for N$250, with only 30 going for N$5000.

According to Gondwana, 92% of the vouchers on offer were bought by Namibians, with international buyers taking up 7% and South African buyers only buying one percent.

The tourism operator said 610 buyers bought the N$850 vouchers, 464 bought the N$610 vouchers, 337 bought the N$450 vouchers, 126 bought the N$1100 vouchers, 129 bought the N$1300 vouchers, 25 buying the N$250 vouchers, with 20 buying the N$5000 vouchers, which will be sent out starting today (Monday).
